The ILA, SS Lines, dray carriers and terminals are all working to clear the backlog of containers. Here is a quick snap shot of the present conditions. It is looking like spring time before they will be able to catchup. The current average waiting time is approximately 2+ hours. As of Thursday (2/4/21) there were 63 ships in the harbor and 34 ships anchored outside the port waiting to be worked. Out of those vessels 29 are currently being worked. The port of LGB is looking to have cargo diverted to other nearby ports to help relieve some congestion. (temporarily) There have been over 600 Coronavirus cases and 12 deaths reported at the terminals. This is causing major labor issues. They are working to have all longshoreman to get vaccinated. Hopefully the brief lag in imports with the Chinese New Year will help create some breathing room. We will continue to monitor the drayage conditions and keep you posted. Contact our team of drayage professionals for real-time updates.
