Continuing to highlight our special equipment solutions, today we are focusing on step-deck trailers.

The step deck is a type of trailer that is like the flatbed, but with two deck levels: upper deck and lower deck that drop down after clearing the tractors rear axles. Generally, step deck trailers can haul taller loads than flatbed trailers and some have ramps for unloading. They also tend to be safer for forklift side loading and unloading, since they are closer to the ground.

Examples of Typical Cargo:
• heavy equipment
• machinery
• freight that is over 9 feet tall

Most Step-Deck Specifications:
Max. Freight Weight 48.000 lbs.
Lower Deck Length 37 feet.
Upper Deck Length 11 feet.

Max. Cargo Height and Width (before permits):

Height 10 feet (120″)
