Some days do you think your truck broker is playing a prank on you, with relentless emails and phone calls offering empty promises of submarket rates? Now, with the addition of technology, websites can pop up and present a façade in order to appear to have the goods to deliver your cargo safely and legally. Flashy websites with quick online rating tools that give the illusion they are capable, however no equipment or driver are actually attached to the rate. These large investment firm truck brokers have no regard for the cargo and will put your freight on a load board and/ or give it to the lowest bidding carrier. Often the vetting process in almost nonexistent, in most cases they never worked together and most likely never will again in the future. And the biggest “cost” is the back sell in the end… once they get the bill of lading they will relentlessly call everyone named on the BOL to capture more freight.
