We arranged the multi-mode solution for our freight forwarder client and friend. The Demanko freight pro’s picked up 4 crates containing core samples from the tiny island of Kivalina Alaska which is located approximately 80 miles north of the arctic circle. They did not have a loading dock or a fork lift. Our team was able to work with the amazing people on the island arranging a front-end loader to carry the crates across the island and to the small single engine aircraft. From there we flew the crates down to Kotzebue, Alaska then onto Tukwila, Washington. Once the crates were in Washington state we transferred them to the Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC) in Seattle where they took possession of the crates. The Freight Forwarder and NVOCC wasn’t sure if collecting the cargo from such a remote location with minimal resources was even possible… then they made they call to Demanko.
