It is winter time and the snow is flying up here in the northeast. The ports and terminals of New York and New Jersey are still digging out from the snowstorms and more snow is on the way! Most of the terminals are opening on Saturday for empty pick up and import containers only. No exports or Out-Of-Gauge (OOG). The current average driver wait time is approximately 3-4 hours. Some drivers are seeing upwards of 6-8 hour of waiting time due to the containers being buried in the snow. This is causing a lot of drivers to be voided out. Availability is out till the end of February but could change depending if mother nature cooperates. This is a fluid situation as many external factors are impacting the movement of full containers and chassis.
